Objective
of the ETT course
In all the E.T.T. colleges run by the Group, stress is laid
on child centered and activity based learning process. Various
Commissions and Committees on education have emphasized
that a systematic education programme is essential for qualitative
improvement of teacher trainees. This has become all the
more necessary with the generation of new knowledge, instructional
designs and communication technology. Against this backdrop,
the teaching faculty of our Elementary Teachers’ Training
colleges work hard to help the teacher trainees to develop
following qualities so that they bloom into successful teachers:

• Competence to teach
various subjects on the basis of accepted principles of
learning and teaching.
• Skills, understanding, interest and attitudes, which
would enable them to foster all round growth and development
of their pupils.
• Skills in identifying, selecting, innovating and
organizing learning experiences for teaching various school
subjects.
• Understanding of psychological principles of growth
and development, individual differences and cognitive and
attitudinal learning.
• Skills in guiding students in order to enable them
to solve their personal as well as academic problems.
• Understanding the role of home, school and community
in shaping the personality of the child and to develop an
amicable home school relationship for mutual benefit.
